Whedon On The Ball, Maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. In Fall

Although Entertainment Weekly was rather nonchalant about the news, fans of everything MCU will be happy to know that Phase 2, which will culminate in Avengers 2, is in good health.

Not only has Mr. Whedon already turned in an ouline for the sequel, he’s preparing to direct the much-anticipated S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot in January. The television show will focus on the military/spy agency and their normal operations in the MCU. If everything runs smoothly, it isn’t unlikely that we’ll see the first season when Fall comes around.

When in the timeline the show will take place is still unknown. We reported earlier that Coulson would be back in the show, but what isn’t known is whether the fan favorite survived the events of The Avengers or the series will take place before the films in order to fill in the world’s back story more.

At this speed, it’s almost sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. will start in the midst of Phase 2. The Avengers 2 is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015.
