In news concerning peg-legged swashbucklers, Disney is moving forward with Pirates of the Caribbean 5. According to Variety, Jeff Nathanson has been hired to pen the next installment. Nathanson is well-known for writing Catch Me if You Can and Terminal. Johnny Depp is set to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Not to be outdone, Universal has announced a release date for Jurassic Park 4 via a Twitter account. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) have written a first draft of the script, but no director is attached at the moment. With the knowledge that Spielberg is holding off on filming Robopocalypse, maybe he’ll take the helm? We’ll just have to wait and see.
